Hao Boyi was born in 1938, and is a native of Muping, Shandong Province, and a member of the CCP. He was vice-president of the Heilongjiang Engraving Institute, and president of the Beidahuang Artisits Association. He is a member of the China Artists Association, director of the China Engraving Artists Association, consultant of Heilongjiang Province Artists Association and Class-A artist.

His engraving works received a bronze prize at the national art exhibition, first prize of Suzhou National Watermark Woodcut Exhibition, and a merit award at The 9th National Engraving Exhibition. He received a gold medal from the Japan and China Art Communication, and a gold trophy and silver medal from the Japan and China Art Communication Association. Around 100 of his works are displayed around the nation and in foreign countries. He also held personal exhibitions in Shenzhen, Suzhou, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Paris and Sydney. His works are collected by art halls, museums, art colleges and all sectors of society both home and abroad. His most notable published works are “Hao Boyi Engraving Selection”, and “Hao Boyi Engraving World”.
