Wang Xishan was born in Harbin in 1956. He is a professor and Master Tutor of the Art Institute of Harbin Normal University. He is a member of the China Artists Association, and academician of the China Block Print Society. He is the assistant director of Heilongjiang Province Block Print Art committee, and specially-appointed artist of Heilongjiang Block Print Institute.
His block print “Autumn Brilliant” of 1999 was selected in the Ninth China Art Exhibition. “All of the Year” of 2000 won the silver award in the fifteenth China Block Print Exhibition. “No Say Harvest” of 2002 won the copper award of the Sixth China Block Print Exhibition. “Old Land” of 2005 won the copper award at the Seventh China Block Print Exhibition. He also published “Wang Xishan’s Sketch and Block Print”.
