The Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze river resisted the year's second largest flood peak this afternoon.

At 2PM Beijing time, flowing water reached 56,000 cubic meters per second, the second high since July 20th. After that, the water level in the dam rises 4 meters to 153 meters and overstep the 145-meter flood alarm level. Since mid June, the dam had slowed the flow of about 15 billion cubic meters of water in the previous four flood peaks.
