Daqing has 641 thousand hectares of wetland, accounting for 1/3 of the known wetland area in China. It has the biggest urban wetland in Asia—Longfeng Wetland Natural Reserve. Daqing also has the famous title of “City with Hundreds of Lakes”. There are 284 lakes with an area over 100 hectares and the total area is nearly 3000 square kilometers. Wetland is a precious treasure that nature gives to Daqing with balanced zoology and a conservative source of water. Wetlands have unique zoological functions, economic, social and ecological values.
