As part of the upcoming renovation of Building B, the Library & Archives will be relocating its services to other areas of the Palais des Nations throughout summer 2025. Please take note of the following important changes:
- Library Services:
The Library has moved to the Annex Bocage. All Library services are temporarily suspended and will become gradually available again as soon as possible. Reading rooms will reopen in September 2025. In the meantime, you can reach us at ask.unog.ch/library.
- Archives Services:
The Archives Reading Room has relocated to Room S.044 in the S Building. It is open by appointment. Request access at ask.unog.ch/archives.
- UN History Museum Geneva:
- The Museum is currently closed.
Stay tuned for updates on our new temporary exhibition space at the Palais des Nations.

Below is an overview of our current Library & Archives services
Our On-Site Services
- The Library will be able to welcome onsite users in September 2025. Until then, access badges requests will not be processed.
- Books pick up are suspended until further notice.
- Books returns are possible using the Library dropboxes at Door 40 in E Building, 2nd floor and at Door C21, C Building, ground floor (24/7).
- Physical archives that have not been digitized can only be consulted at the Archives Reading Room (S.044) by appointment. Request access at ask.unog.ch/archives.
- Records management services can be requested at recordsmanagement-unog@un.org.
- Please note that all in-person guided visits to the Library & Archives are currently suspended until further notice.
Our Online Services
- Library accounts creation, loans, inter-library loans are suspended until further notice.
- All Research Tools can be found at https://libraryresources.unog.ch, including a large collection of open access resources.
- Find answers by our librarians and archivists to FAQs at ask.unog.ch.
- Resources & services for UN Geneva Staff, including remote access, are available at https://libraryresources.unog.ch/staff.
