Friendship Between Lanzhou and Albuquerque
清晨的牛肉面热气升腾，夜晚的中山桥灯火璀璨。西北偏北，金城兰州，豪爽如黄河水，满满的烟火气。
Steam rises from morning beef noodle soup; Zhongshan Bridge at night glows brightly over the river. In Northwest China, Lanzhou is bold and generous like the Yellow River, full of lively energy.
瑞秋·斯奈德：来中国前，我先入为主地觉得，中国是个快节奏，很繁忙的地方。来到这里后，我发现情况恰恰相反。兰州的生活非常平静安逸，这里的人们热情好客。黄河岸边生机勃勃，每天晚上在黄河边散步感觉非常棒。我也感受到了兰州这座城市的活力与满满的烟火气。
Rachel Snyder: I think I had a preconceived notion when I came that China would a very busy and hectic place, and I found it to be very opposite of that. It's very peaceful to be here in Lanzhou. Everybody's been so hospitable and kind. River path here is so lively and active. It was wonderful going for walks each night there. I just feel the warmth and energy of the city.

瑞秋·斯奈德：在这里我发现兰州和阿尔伯克基有很多相似之处。我们有非常相似的自然景观，我们都有一条穿城而过的河流。
Rachel Snyder: There are many similarities I've observed between Lanzhou and Albuquerque, not only is our landscape very similar, and we both have a river that goes through the middle of our cities.
地处各自国家西北部，两座城，拥有一样开拓进取的精神。
Located in the northwest of their countries, both cities share the same pioneering spirit.
瑞秋·斯奈德：阿尔伯克基和兰州一样，都是枢纽城市。人们来这里工作、学习、开展文化交流。尤其是在职业教育及教育培训方面，对我们双方来说，一同探索这些领域未来的发展真的很棒！
Rachel Snyder: Albuquerque similar to Lanzhou, is a hub for those people to come for work, for training and cultural exchanges. Especially thinking about the vocational and educational training, opportunities for exchange would be wonderful for us to explore moving forward！
从1996年到2025年，从官方互访到民间对话，兰州与阿尔伯克基的友城纽带跨越大洋，见证多元文化的交流与碰撞。
From 1996 to 2025, from official visits to peoples' exchanges, the sister-city bond between Lanzhou and Albuquerque crossed the ocean, witnessing the exchange of diverse cultures.
瑞秋·斯奈德：带着这次交流的经历回到阿尔伯克基后，我们将进一步探索，推动两城之间更多交流，不仅仅是政府间的交流，也包括双方学生间的交流，尤其是高校与大学生间的交流，在我们看来这是非常好的交流机会。
Rachel Snyder: I think it's something that I would like to bring back to Albuquerque to explore more. We are trying to do more exchanges that aren't just government to government, but also student exchange opportunities, especially with our university system, with older students from the US perspective.
时光荏苒，这段29年的双城友谊还将延续，历久弥新。
Time passes, but this 29-year friendship will continue, growing stronger with time.
瑞秋·斯奈德：期待友城建交30周年时，我们可以共同庆祝，一起纪念我们为两城深厚友谊付出的努力。未来我所期待的，就是两座城市间的文化交流，还有学生之间的交流。让更多美国人民来到兰州，感受兰州，也让兰州人民体验阿尔伯克基的魅力。
Rachel Snyder: I'm hopeful that that will happen for our 30 years' year, I hope we can have a celebration together to commemorate all of the great work that we've done together. I'm looking forward to our cultural exchange and student exchange, bringing more people to experience Lanzhou, and people from Lanzhou to experience Albuquerque as well.
